Kemono Invasion Calgary, Canada

Fri Sept 4 to Sun Sept 6

Kemonos are loose in southeast Calgary

Four meetups where a small pack of kemonos turn up somewhere ordinary, be silly, take photos, and clear out before anyone minds. Coffee to start, a river walk, a gas-station run at dusk, donuts before we scatter. We tip well and hold doors.

The Telegram is the real plan. Times may move, and you can suggest spots and times there too. Check it before you head out.

Good to know

  • Getting there. All locations are about 6 to 8 minutes west of the hotel, across Glenmore Trail in Riverbend.
  • Bring a spotter. Every suiter should have a buddy out of suit for navigation, blind spots, and holding drinks and wallets.
  • Gas station rules. The dusk shoot stays on the raised concrete walkways and the perimeter. Nobody near fuel lanes or vehicle paths.
  • Tim Hortons photos. Outside is cleared. Inside is still a maybe, we are asking Christine first. She told me to come in and say hi.

Just here to watch?

That is fine. Come hang out, watch, walk with the group. No suit needed to say hi.

The one rule we hold: group and portrait photos only feature suits that read as kemono. A non-kemono suit is still welcome to tag along, it just sits out of the kemono photo sets.

This weekend is timed around Calfurry, Calgary's furry convention.

Kemono Invasion is a fan-run meetup. It is unofficial and not associated with Calfurry or its organizers.
